Bath Time

I love Camp after his bath. I love how soft his skin is and the way he smells-just like a baby. Since I'm with Camp all day bath time is Blake's bonding time with him. I love watching my two favorite boys bond!! I have to admit its so sweet watching a big burly man bathe a tiny little baby. To me bath time is precious. Here are some bath time pictures:

1 Month

Let me preface this post by saying it was so hard to find a camouflage outfit that matches Blake's hunting attire. In case you don't know, and I didn't, there are many types of camouflage men can wear. My husband wears what is called real tree. I never could find a real tree outfit for Camp until I went to a consignment sale. There it is real tree for $2 (now if only Blake's hunting outfits cost that).

Moving on...I'm a little late with this post...

Camp had his one month doctor's appointment. He is healthy and growing. Below are some highlights on him:

He is 11 lbs and 22 1/2 inches
He is in 3 months clothes
He is in 1 diapers and does best in pampers
He is currently eating 5 oz but we're getting ready to move up to 6oz
He loves grabbing onto things now (especially his mother’s hair and burp cloths)
Speaking of hair, he is losing his. The big question is: Will it come back black?
He only cries when he's hungry and has gas. He overall is a really calm baby
He's beginning to smile.
He hated being swaddled. He loves for his hands to be free and loves to kick. He would always just kick himself out of a blanket. Now we're working hard on keeping socks on his feet. He's not a fan.
He loves to wiggle and move so we can no longer leave him alone in his boppy or on the couch.
He loves to lie in his soft gym. He loves to look at the mirror in the soft gym.
He is starting to see further away and enjoys his mobile.
If he will not go to sleep during the day we put him in his swing and he falls fast asleep. Works like a charm everytime.
His first stroll was through downtown chattanooga
He survived 3 tornadoes
His first hotel experience was at the Holiday Inn Express and then the Hampton Inn
His first resturant experience was at Taco Mac

We are working on sleeping through the night for the doctor said an 11 lbs baby can sleep through the night. YEAH!!!

Mothers Day

My first Mothers Day was wonderful!! My husband did a great job planning the day. I know it was difficult for him because he's been working so hard due to the tornadoes. We went and hung out downtown Chattanooga. The weather was beautiful and all I wanted to do was get out of the house!! It was so peaceful and wonderful to spend time with my boys.

As we sat on the bridge overlooking the water I wished the day would never end. It was one of those days I tried to take in every sight and smell in hopes to never forget the day. Below are some pictures:

Tornados and Royal Wedding

We survived!! Last week the Chattanooga region was hit with five tornados. Where we live we experienced three. The first and third were more like terrible thunderstorms, but the second one was much different. We looked outside and it was almost black, the wind was horrific and then the hail and rain began. We’ve never seen rain come down and then funnel back up in the air. Immediately we went downstairs. We put Camp in his car seat for protection and then we took shelter in the closet downstairs. Camp slept through it all.

Camp did great considering he survived three tornados and we lost power for four days. Having an infant with no power is very interesting. We changed diapers by candlelight and flashlights. We tried to provide him warm bottles with the warm water we had left. We made it through one night and then like the rest of Chattanooga, 115,000 without power, we lived the rest of the time in a hotel. It was kind of like our first vacation with Camp, except we were on vacation in our own City. We basically packed up everything for him and made our home in the hotel. We also went on our first stroll with him through downtown Chattanooga. That was a lot of fun!! Life is easier being able to take him out in public. I have to admit, I love getting out of the house.

We are very blessed compared to the rest of the cities’ around us. Just 10 minutes down the road a 100 mph tornado touched down. Numerous people lost their homes and loved ones. Now everyone is in recovery mode. Blake is now on the catastrophe team for work so he is working around the clock. Camp and I are spending our time together and getting to know each other more.

On to more blissful news, The ROYAL WEDDING!! Now if you know me I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE weddings!! I actually did not get up and watch the wedding for I cherish the sleep I get while Camp is asleep. We were actually in a hotel room so I couldn’t just turn it on without waking Blake or Camp. When we got up we turned on the TV and got to see the KISS!! I was so excited! Then they showed all the highlights. First, her dress was a timeless elegant dress. I loved it!! Wow- she was so beautiful!! It was so neat to see the uniforms the King and Prince’s wear for events like weddings.

Of course, individuals on TV are like I wouldn’t want to be her or have to live the life Kate, excuse me Kathryn, will have to live. I understand that but after seeing the photo below, can we just say FAIRY TALE!!!!
