First Hair Cut

Wow! It has been a crazy two weeks. I'm totally behind on blogging because I haven't had a computer. I hope to catch up this weekend when Blake is out of town fishing. I've got lots of stuff I want to archive about Camp. Most exciting news is that I have a new job at our church, Brainerd Baptist. I work part-time as the child care coordinator on the preschool ministry team. This has been such a blessing for I work 8 to 2 on Tuesday and Thursdays when Camp is at MDO, right across the hall from me. The rest of my work I do at home. I'm super excited because I get to disciple and encourage women while shaping the souls of children. God is so good! Catching up, below is camp getting his first hair cut like a month ago. He did really good. He loved being able to see himself in the mirror. He's such a Big Boy now with his first Big Boy haircut. Below are some pictures.

Birthday and Mother's Day

I have to say this past weekend was one of the most FUN filled weekends we’ve experienced in a long time. It was just fun and the type of weekend where one leaves all their worries behind. With that said, Friday was Blake’s birthday. Blake grew up riding dirt bikes and he always comments how much fun riding a dirt bike is and he wants one etc. So, in February I started researching places to rent and ride dirt bikes. Through a lot of research and talking to folks, I surprised Blake with a day of riding a dirt bike.

We packed up Saturday morning and headed to Cedartown, GA. This is right on the AL/GA line. It’s about two hours away. Blake had the time of his life!!! It was wonderful to see him so happy. Now, I have to admit, this is one of those times where I wish grandparents lived near us. I just wasn’t sure what I was going to do with Camp all day long in the middle of the woods. Oh man, I have to totally brag on Camp. He did awesome!! I kind of set up a play area in the back of our car and he played there with some of his toys. I took his tractor and he spent most of his time tilling the land. The most entertaining item for Camp was one that I didn’t even bring-DIRT! He loved the dirt. He played in it all day long. Of course, he tried to eat it too. Other than that he just did perfect and slept the whole way home.

For Mothers Day, I just wanted a FREEBIE day-a day of no diapers, no cleaning, no laundry and no cooking. My wonderful husband did my duties!!! I am so blessed. The funniest part of the day is when Blake said, “I tried to clean Camp’s room and play area, but every time I did he just came right in and messed it up again.” I just had to laugh to myself for that’s my everyday life. Also, Blake let me dress Camp super traditional for church. Blake said he looked like one of the guys from the Ricola commercials. Getting Camp to stand or sit still for a picture is not happening. I tried.

Sleeping Positions

I thought I would do one more post because the way Camp sleeps just cracks me up. He's all over the place and looks so BIG in his crib. Lately his bumper is becoming a hazard so I think I may have to take it off. I went into his bedroom the other morning and he had one leg on top of the bumper and one leg under it. He's trying to climb on it to get out of his crib. Have I mentioned what a climber Camp has become?
This used to be my baby sleeping: and now...

Fishing Boat and Fishing Pole

I'm still behind in posting-ha! Here is my last posting from Easter. Camp got to try out Pop's new fishing boat. He also got introduced to a fishing pole. Blake's favorite thing in the world is to fish! He's already picked out Camp "kid" fishing poles and tackle boxes. But for now, we're just working on Camp holding a spoon, not a fishing pole.
