Scenic Route

This past weekend we were in Asheville, NC for one of my dearest friends wedding. On the way back we took the scenic route to avoid construction on the highway. Since we do not get to be engulfed by the beautiful mountains anymore, we decided to get out of the car and enjoy the views.

Carrier

Blake and I got the below carrier at a consignment sale a couple of months ago and had yet to use it. Note: So glad did not pay the full price for the carrier when there are so many at consignment sales. Those things are so expensive!! Now that

Camp is gaining more control of his head we thought we'd try it on! I know many moms use their carriers all the time. I'm not sure if I or Blake will. Only time will tell. Camp seems happy though!!

Labor Day Weekend

For the Labor Day weekend we drove across the state of Tennessee to Memphis for my nephew’s first birthday party. Blake’s oldest sister lives in Memphis and she has three children. This was Camp’s longest car ride and he did great. It took us six hours each way and he slept most of the time.

Samuel had a great birthday with the most beautiful cake. Summer had a cake made in the form of a train. Aunt Trish and Uncle Blake gave Samuel a little Tikes basketball goal. Note: Taking Blake into Toy’s-R-Us was like taking a kid in there. I foresee problems in the future. I couldn’t get him out of there nor could I get him to stop playing with the toys.

We tried to let Samuel and Camp play together. Camp can’t sit up yet and sometimes Samuel was a little too rough with him, but Camp didn’t mind at all. Samuel was most intrigued with Trixie. He crawled all over the place trying to keep up with her.

My nieces have grown up so much. They say some of the funniest things. One of the most preciouse things my niece said to me was, "Aunt Trish being a mom is hard isn't it?" So cute and precious. At the time she said it, that's what I needed to hear. She stole my heart. Also, I felt so honored because the girls wanted to ride with me to run errands. I now know what it is like to have a car full of kids!!

Sarah let Blake and I have her room for the weekend and I felt like such a princess. She has a princess make-up table and that’s where I put on my make-up for the weekend. One time she set beside me and we talked make-up. Little does she know that her mom taught me everything I know about putting on make-up and she will be taught the same way. There’s a picture below of the princess table.

Of course this weekend began Tennessee football. We all watched the game and cheered on the Vols! All in all, we had a great weekend and it was so wonderful to be with our family!!
